Self-Compacting Concrete

SCC Concrete is an advanced type of concrete that flows under its own weight and self-compacts with levelling. This characteristic providing a high performance base concrete. its ability to fill complex formwork and pass through congested reinforcement while maintaining a homogeneous mix and offering faster construction times and superior finishes.
Advantages
- No mechanical vibration is needed for placement, which reduces noise and labour costs
- It provides a smooth and dense surface finish on the concrete.
- Its ability to flow freely makes it ideal for structures with intricate designs and densely spaced reinforcement.
- The ease of placement leads to quicker construction times.
Application
- Construction of structures with intricate reinforcement, providing efficient and uniform filling.
- The construction of highly stable and durable structure is facilitated through the use of SCC, ensuring structural integrity
- Its extensively uses in structure casting of Slab, Column, retaining walls and raft
Preventive Measures
- Ensure the Formwork and props are carry the load of concrete.
- Shuttering should be watertight to avoid any slurry losses in the mix.
- Early water curing should be must for laying fresh concrete.
- After finishing the concrete surface, cover the concrete surface by hessian cloth, gunny bags or plastic sheet.
